The author

Between analysis
and imagination.

Rahul Akula is an author and storyteller originally from Hyderabad, India, and now based in the Washington, D.C. area in the United States. He is the creator of Rahulverse — a growing body of fiction spanning romance, horror, mystery, thriller, survival, and character-driven storytelling.

His academic journey spans business, strategy, and analytics. He holds an MBA with a focus in Finance and Human Resources, completed his Master’s studies in Business Analytics in the United States, and has continued his academic journey through doctoral-level study in Business Analytics.

While that background is rooted in analytical thinking, storytelling gives Rahul a different lens — one focused on memory, fear, love, decisions, relationships, and the moments that quietly change a person’s life.

The journey

One book became a universe.

Rahul’s debut novel, Akruthi: Our Last Promise, is a deeply personal work of fiction inspired by true events. Through love, distance, family, ambition, memory, and acceptance, it explores how some relationships may change while the impact they leave behind continues to shape us.

From there, the creative path widened. The Island the Empire Erased moves into historical horror, mystery, investigation, and survival. When Words Fell Short turns toward a quieter, warm romance built around a Melbourne coffee house and two people whose connection begins before words do.

Those different worlds became Rahulverse: not a single genre, but a home for stories designed to leave emotion, atmosphere, and a lingering question behind.

Academic background

A different kind
of foundation.

Rahul’s education informs his discipline and curiosity, while fiction gives him room to explore the parts of human experience that cannot be reduced to a model or metric.
